在液压机系统的组件换向阀上常常利用电磁铁来控制其工作，阀用电磁铁的基本结构一般由固定的线圈和可动的衔铁组成。根据控制电流的不同，可以分为交流和直流两种类型。

1、 交流电磁铁换向时间短(一般为0.03—0.05s)，但是其不足之处为换向时冲击较大，允许的换向频率低(约60次/分)，当衔铁不能正常吸合(如阀芯卡主、电源电压过低等原因造成)时会因线圈温度过高而烧毁，故可靠性较差，液压机寿命不长(通过实验证明：干式约为60x104次，湿式约为6x106次)。

2、 直流电磁铁换向时间较长(一般为0.1-0.3s)，但换向冲击小，允许换向频率较高(一般为240次/分左右)，即使衔铁不能正常吸合，线圈也不会烧毁，因此工作可靠，使用寿命长((通过实验证明：干式约为6x106次，湿式约为10x106次)。
2, DC electromagnet directional time longer (usually 0.1-0.3s), butlittle reversing impact, allowing directional high frequency (usually about 240beats per minute), even if the armature can not pull, coil will not burn, it isreliable using long life (demonstrated by experiments: dry about 6x106 timesand wet air is about 10x106).
3、 常用的交流电磁铁的电压一般为交流220v;常用直流电磁铁的电压为直流12V、24V、110V,需要配备相应的直流电源。
